Project Description
Rotary Club of Chitwan handedover a sports materials on 16th September 2026 (31 Bhadra 2083) at Bidur Municipality–9, Nuwakot, targeting students affected by the Bhotekoshi flood. Materials included nine(9) varieties such as Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball and Cricket etc. and Handover program was organized with the objective of supporting the educational, physical, mental, and extracurricular development of students affected by the disaster and helping them gradually return to normal school life. During the program, sports materials were handed over to Rtn. Rajendra Dawadi, Headteacher of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School, in recognition of his important role in keeping 1,643 students safe during the flood. The support is intended to help flood-affected students resume sports and recreational activities at school, providing opportunities for physical exercise, teamwork, social interaction, confidence building, and emotional recovery after the disaster. Maintaining sports and extracurricular activities is also expected to contribute to students’ motivation, engagement, and overall well-being as they return to their regular educational environment. The program was held under the chairmanship of Rtn. Gehendra Man Shrestha, President of Rotary Club of Chitwan. Past Presidents Rtn. Kalyan Joshi, Rtn. Uttam Lal Chuke, Rtn. Gyanendra Man Shakya, and Rtn. Bhanu Sharma, Immediate Past President Rtn. Ramchandra Adhikari, President-Elect Rtn. Rajan Piya, and Service Project Chair Rtn. Guneshwar Mahato were present at the program. Through this initiative, Rotary Club of Chitwan aims to provide practical support to disaster-affected students while helping them regain a sense of normalcy and continue their physical and extracurricular development through sports.
